Benign breast lump

This question is often asked - "Do I need to worry about my Benign breast lump"? It should be noted that most breast lumps are actually benign and not malignant (cancer). These are basically abnormal growths and in almost all cases do not spread outside of the breast and are definitely not life threatening. BUT, a benign breast lump can increase a woman's risk of getting breast cancer. To be safe, you should get any breast lump or change checked by the appropriate health care professional to determine if it is benign or cancer and if it might affect your future cancer risk.
